The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for analysing data, developing reports, and providing insights that help the organisation improve its operations and decision-making processes.
The role involves working with various data sources, using BI tools to create dashboards and visualizations, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyse data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence dashboards, reports, and visualisations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
- Data Modeling: Build and maintain data models that support analytical capabilities, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Data Quality: Ensure data integrity and accuracy by conducting regular audits and implementing data governance practices.
- Data Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc data analyses to support specific business needs and projects.
- Training & Support: Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and data interpretation.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
- Strong knowledge of SQL for data querying.
- Experience with data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ETL Processes: Knowledge of extract, transform, load (ETL) processes and tools.
- Advanced Analytics: Experience with advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling and machine learning.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the industry in which the organization operates, understanding specific business challenges and data needs.
